Epic Update : Sensex closes flat

The Sensex failed to close above the 20000-mark after a lot of struggle at that level. The index rose just 13.88 points to 19915.95 while the Nifty declined 2.40 points to 5907.30, but the broader markets marginally outperformed benchmarks. The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices gained 0.3 percent and 0.5 percent, respectively.
