Epic Update : Choppy Nifty closes lower ahead of Sept expiry

It was a choppy session for the market on Wednesday ahead of September series expiry tomorrow. The Sensex fell more than 260 points in intraday trade, but recovered three-fourth of losses in last hour of trade. The 30-share BSE benchmark was down 63.97 points to close at 19856.24 while the 50-share NSE benchmark lost 18.60 points to 5873.85. The September series has been strong so far with the equity benchmarks rising over 8 percent with more than Rs 12,000 crore of foreign money inflow, helped largely by recovery in rupee on Raghuram Rajan’s effect and no tapering by US Federal Reserve. The series may end around 5900-5950, feel dealers.
