Epic Research Update : Asian Markets



Asian shares posted steep losses early Friday, following Wall Street’s decline overnight after fresh signs of a slowdown in China.



US stocks plunged on Thursday, as worries over China and escalating tensions in Ukraine ahead of Sunday’s referendum in Crimea sent a shudder through Wall Street.



Hong Kong’s Hang Seng shed 0.61 percent or 133.67 points at 21,622.41. Japan’s Nikkei plunged 2.36 percent or 350.28 points at 14,465.70.



Singapore’s Straits Times fell 0.38 percent or 11.67 points at 3,069.72. South Korea’s Seoul Composite declined 0.50 percent or 9.65 points at 1,924.73.



Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted slipped 0.47 percent or 41.46 points at 8,706.33. China’s Shanghai Composite was down 0.19 percent or 3.84 points at 2,015.27.
