Asian shares were mostly lower on Wednesday despite gains in global markets overnight due to caution over the Federal Reserve’s policy meeting and the health of China’s property market.
China’s Shanghai Composite slipped 0.61 percent or 12.42 points at 2,012.77. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng shed 0.20 percent or 42.25 points at 21,541.25.
Japan’s Nikkei was down 0.43 percent or 61.61 points at 14,349.66. Singapore’s Straits Times fell 0.65 percent or 20.04 points at 3,073.80.
South Korea’s Seoul Composite was flat at 1,941.82. Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted fell 0.20 percent or 17.22 points at 8,714.72.
