Epic Research Update : Asian Markets

Asian stock markets were mostly lower on Thursday, following losses on Wall Street, after Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen suggested interest rate hikes could happen sooner than expected.

China’s Shanghai Composite was flat at 2,021.86 while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng declined 211.01 points or 0.98 percent to 21,357.68.

Japan’s Nikkei 225 Average slipped 75.59 points or 0.52 percent to 14,386.93 and Singapore’s Straits Times fell 5.90 points to 3,074.85.

South Korea’s Seoul Composite declined 15.75 points or 0.81 percent to 1,921.93 and Taiwan Weighted was down 76.84 points or 0.88 percent to 8,612.62.
