After market holiday on Thursday, The benchmark Sensex closed at 22,688, down 188 points. The Nifty too slide to settle at 6783 mark, down 58 points.
BSE, except healthcare, tech, consumer durable and realty, metals and consumer durables all sectoral indices closed in the red. Oil and Gas and FMCG sector were hit the most and closed lower by 2.11% and 2% respectively.
Volatility was down with the volatility closing at 31, down 1.45%.
Nifty top gainers are Mahindra & Mahindra, Tech Mahindra, Dr Reddy, Axis bank and HDFC.
Nifty top losers are Cairn India,Ambuja cements, BPCl, Ultratech cements and Grasim.
