Asian stocks were mixed on Tuesday as investors reacted to key factory activity data from the mainland while metal stocks rallied on the back of higher copper and gold prices.
China’s Shanghai Composite was flat at 2,047.86. Japan’s Nikkei gained 1.29 percent or 195.15 points at 15,358.25.
Singapore’s Straits Times shed 0.41 percent or 13.34 points at 3,242.33. South Korea’s Seoul Composite was down 0.24 percent or 4.72 points at 1,997.49.
Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted added 0.44 percent or 40.88 points at 9,433.95. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng shut today.
