The Asian shares held steady on Tuesday as investors waited with bated breath for the deadline that could see much of the US Government begin to shut down – and potentially crimp growth in the world’s largest economy, reported Reuters.Japan's Nikkei added 0.57% or 82.77 points at 14,538.57.
Singapore's Straits Times gained 0.76% or 24.19 points at 3,192.06.
South Korea's Seoul Composite rose 0.73% or 14.49 points at 2,011.45.
Taiwan's Taiwan Weighted advanced 0.48% or 38.93 points at 8,212.80.
Hang Seng and Shanghai Composite are shut today.
