Asian equity markets followed their US peers lower on Tuesday with Japan’s benchmark index leading losses by over 2 percent after the blue-chip Dow posted its biggest decline in three months.
China’s Shanghai Composite shed 0.33 percent or 6.60 points at 2,002.96.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng declined 0.52 percent or 119.82 points at 22,768.94.
Japan’s Nikkei plunged 2.28 percent or 363.31 points at 15,548.75.
Singapore’s Straits Times fell 0.39 percent or 12.28 points at 3,123.21.
South Korea’s Seoul Composite was up 0.11 percent or 2.11 points at 1,951.03.
Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted was down 0.25 percent or 21.02 points at 8,545.18.
