Asian markets were trading mixed on Thursday. US stocks slid on Wednesday, with benchmark indexes failing to maintain a second day of gains, after US President Barack Obama cautioned against complacency on Russian moves in Ukraine.
China’s Shanghai Composite was down 0.26 percent or 5.39 points at 2,058.28.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was up 0.14 percent or 30.17 points at 21,917.92.
Japan’s Nikkei shed 1.25 percent or 181.47 points at 14,295.69.
Singapore’s Straits Times added 0.30 percent or 9.52 points at 3,152.84.
South Korea’s Seoul Composite was flat at 1,965.41.
Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted was up 0.16 percent or 13.76 points at 8,751.03.
