Asian equities were mostly higher on Tuesday following a rally on Wall Street overnight but the mood was cautious as the threat of further US sanctions on Russia weighed on risk sentiment.
China’s Shanghai Composite rose 0.34 percent or 6.96 points at 2,072.78. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was up 0.16 percent or 37.23 points at 22,797.47.
Japan’s Nikkei added 0.37 percent or 53.59 points at 14,565.97. Singapore’s Straits Times jumped 0.37 percent or 12.04 points at 3,267.87.
South Korea’s Seoul Composite was flat at 1,998.89. Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted gained 0.26 percent or 23.72 points at 8,974.91.
