Time Warner Cable Outage Today






Time Warner Cable experienced an outage this morning around 7:00. We called into their customer service line shortly thereafter and were informed by their computer that they were experiencing an area-wide outage of internet and phone service and that their technicians were working on the problem to restore service.

Fine, if they are aware of the problem and are working on it, no need to waste time talking to an ignorant phone technician.


We called again at midday and got a slightly different answer from the computer. “Unfortunately, the internet and phone service area-wide outage is still being worked. Be assured that our technicians are working quickly to restore your service.”


An hour later, we called and discovered that Time Warner Cable (humans this time) knew of no service outage at all today! Nor had we received a call to tell us that the internet had been restored.


This kind of shoddy behavior is what we've come to expect from TWC—and it's why we're switching to Google Fiber as soon as it's available.
