Asian Markets Update by Epic Research

Asian equities rose on Friday, tracking gains in global markets following a better-than-expected US employment report.



Hong Kong’s Hang Seng rose 0.34 percent or 80.65 points at 23,612.09. Japan’s Nikkei added 0.63 percent or 96.78 points at 15,445.07.



Singapore’s Straits Times advanced 0.38 percent or 12.43 points at 3,285.58. South Korea’s Seoul Composite was flat at 2,011.83.



Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted shed 0.31 percent or 29.85 points at 9,496.38. China’s Shanghai Composite was down 0.12 percent or 2.51 points at 2,060.72.
