Asian Markets Update by Epic Research

Asian equities extended losses into a third session on Wednesday following a selloff on Wall Street overnight and steady Chinese inflation data.



China’s Shanghai Composite fell 4.25 points to 2,059.77 and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng declined 290.87 points or 1.24 percent to 23,250.51. Japan’s Nikkei 225 Average lost 60.86 points or 0.40 percent to 15,253.55, at 8:00 hours IST.



Singapore’s Straits Times slipped 13.30 points or 0.41 percent to 3,270.04 and South Korea’s Seoul Composite was down 9.36 points or 0.47 percent to 1,997.30. Taiwan Weighted lost 48 points or 0.50 percent to 9,482.98.
