Asian equities were mixed on Thursday following robust US economic data and as investors braced for Argentina to default on its debt for the second time in twelve years.
China’s Shanghai Composite declined 3.50 points to 2,177.74 while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng rose 5.20 points to 24,737.41 and Japan’s Nikkei 225 Average advanced 72.17 points to 15,718.40, at 7:55 hours IST.
Singapore’s Straits Times rose 17.11 points to 0.51 percent to 3,370.76 whereas South Korea’s Seoul Composite was down 3.06 points to 2,079.55 and Taiwan Weighted lost 94.49 points or 1 percent to 9,352.53.
