Asian Markets Update by Epic Research

Asian equities followed their US peers lower on Wednesday on worries that tensions between Russia and Ukraine could escalate into a military conflict.



China’s Shanghai Composite declined 0.75 percent or 16.59 points at 2,203.35. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng slipped 0.75 percent or 184.60 points at 24,463.66.



Japan’s Nikkei shed 0.79 percent or 121.58 points at 15,198.73. Singapore’s Straits Times fell 0.17 percent or 5.77 points at 3,321.90.



South Korea’s Seoul Composite was down 0.16 percent or 3.31 points at 2,062.95. Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted was flat at 9,133.01.
