Most Asian bourses traded higher midday, as benign Chinese inflation data fueled hopes of additional easing while a weaker currency provided support for Japanese shares.
China’s Shanghai Composite jumped 0.53 percent or 12.48 points at 2,371.96.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng rose 0.59 percent or 136.22 points at 23,184.19.
Japan’s Nikkei added 0.60 percent or 89.92 points at 15,026.43.
Singapore’s Straits Times was up 0.10 percent or 3.19 points at 3,197.59.
South Korea’s Seoul Composite slipped 0.41 percent or 7.84 points at 1,921.41.
Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted declined 1.44 percent or 125.83 points at 8,642.56.
