The Bank of England has started asking financial firms to assess their risks from Climate Change. According to the Financial Times “The Bank of England has written to dozens of insurance companies to assess the risk that climate change poses to their solvency and earnings, in a sign of regulators’ concern about the potential financial fallout of global warming.” With the IPCC due to release a major report next week on the rising risks from climate change, it appears that the money crowd is finally getting the message. |
