China’s Shanghai Composite added 0.50 percent or 13.45 points at 2,696.29.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng shed 1.34 percent or 320.37 points at 23,667.08.
Japan’s Nikkei gained 0.98 percent or 171.25 points at 17,631.10.
Singapore’s Straits Times was down 0.10 percent or 3.43 points at 3,347.07.
South Korea’s Seoul Composite fell 0.75 percent or 14.91 points at 1,965.87.
Taiwan’s Taiwan Weighted declined 0.73 percent or 67.37 points at 9,119.78.
