Japanese equities opened to a three-week high, drawing support from the new records on the Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 overnight, while other bourses in the region stepped slightly into negative territory.
Japan’s benchmark Nikkei 225 index touched a three-week high early Tuesday, helped by a weaker yen hovering near the 120 handle against the greenback as the U.S. dollar recovered some lost ground on Monday after several weeks of selling.
South Korea’s Kospi index saw muted moves in early trade.
