The BSE Sensex early gained but market closed lower on Monday. It was a consolidation day on Dalal Street ahead of Q1 GDP data. The BSE Sensex down 109.29 points at 26283.09 and the NSE Nifty index ended falls 30.65 points to 7971.30. The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices decline 0.2%. The Market trade weak, about 1479 shares declined and 1162 shares advanced on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The BSE Indices by profit booking in Capital goods, banking & financial, OIl & Technology stocks while Pharma stocks slipped. The Rupee today slipped to 66.42 dollars Intraday low.
Among Cipla 3.65%, Lupin 3.45%, Dr. Reddy’s 2.81%, Gail 2.75%, BPCL 2.67%, Cairn 2.30%, VEDL 2.23%, HCL Tech 2.18%, Yes Bank 2.05%, Coal India 1.93% were top gainers while BHEL 3.64%, Power Grid 3.51%, Bharti Airtel 2.33%, Ultra cements 2.18%, ACC 2.16%, ICICI Bank 2.01%, Bajaj Auto 1.9%, Boschltd 1.94%, Hindalco 1.90%, ONGC 1.75% were top losers today.
