Crash in Sensex, Nifty continue; rupee tests $68, banks plunge

Epic Update SensexThe market is still struggling with severe cuts. The Sensex is down 388.91 points or 1.6 percent at 24090.93 and the Nifty is down 121.75 points or 1.6 percent at 7313.35. About 391 shares have advanced, 1775 shares declined, and 80 shares are unchanged.

Adani Ports, BHEL, Coal India, SBI and Axis Bank are major losers while Hero MotoCorp is only gainer in the Sensex.

Rupee tests 68 per dollar, hitting 28-month low. The Indian currency has depreciated 2.4 percent against dollar in 2016.
