Sensex, Nifty extend losses; Smallcap tanks 3%, oil stocks drag

Equity benchmarks extended losses again amid volatility. The Sensex fell 182.52 points to 24272.52 and the Nifty declined 54.10 points to 7383.70.

About 2309 shares declined against 343 advancing shares on the BSE.

Reliance Industries and Bajaj Auto tanked 3.5 percent followed by HDFC, HDFC Bank, L&T and ICICI Bank.
