Sensex, Nifty gain strength again; Midcap rebounds, RIL down

Equity benchmarks gained strength again. The Sensex rallied 269.20 points or 1.15 percent to 23651.07 and the Nifty climbed 71.20 points or 1 percent 7179.65.

The BSE Midcap rebounded half a percent while the BSE Smallcap index advanced further.
