Asia trades lower; Nikkei down 0.8%, Kospi down 0.5%

Asian markets opened lower on Thursday, after US stocks dropped in reaction to disappointing earnings reports from key consumer discretionary and retail names.

Japan’s Nikkei 225 was down 0.79 percent, while across the Korean Strait, the Kospi dropped 0.46 percent after market open.
