We're Number Three, But Soon To Be Number Two Behind China

GTM Research reports good news. The US is the number three market in solar, behind Japan, but will become number two in 2016. China is the number one market for solar in the world currently. India is fourth. Solar module prices are poised to fall to 55¢ per watt by yearend. As we have forecast, solar is on track to achieve a dominant position in supplying energy for mankind by the 2030s, if not sooner than that. Fossil fuel phaseout will be happening rapidly in the next decade as the cost of keeping CO2-polluting power plants running will drop below the cost of replacing those plants with solar and wind units. This will not be forced by government decree, but rather by economic necessity.
