Sensex trades positive, Nifty hovers around 9800; FMCG strong

Benchmark indices extended its gains from the previous hour, with the Nifty trading above 9800-mark.
The Sensex traded up 71.85 points at 31520.88, while the Nifty was up 18.60 points at 9812.75. The market breadth was narrowing as 1,388 shares advanced against a decline of 875 shares, while 92 shares were unchanged.

ITC, Hero MotoCorp, Tech Mahindra and Tata Power gained the most on both indices, while Asian Paints, Larsen & Toubro, Yes Bank and Bosch were the top losers.
