Nifty continues to hold 10K, Sensex higher; Cochin Shipyard up 6%

Equity benchmarks as well as broader markets continued to trade higher in afternoon, aided by positive market breadth.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 84.41 points at 31,931.30 and the 50-share NSE Nifty rose 23.95 points to 10,012.70.

About 1,448 shares advanced against 1,083 declining shares on the BSE.

Among sectors, Nifty Bank, Auto, IT and Pharma indices gained 0.2-0.4 percent but Metal fell 0.35 percent and FMCG was down 0.2 percent.
