Sensex up 100 pts; Nifty hovers around 10200 after hitting record high

Equity benchmarks erased some early gains but were still trading higher, backed by metals, auto, FMCG and technology stocks. However, Reliance Industries and select banking & financials capped gains.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 124.75 points at 32,557.44 and the 50-share NSE Nifty rose 42.60 points to 10,210.10.

The market breadth turned negative as about 1,224 shares declined against 1,181 advancing shares on the BSE.
