Sensex rises 300 pts, all sectoral indices up post Gujarat exit polls

Equity benchmarks remained strong with all sectoral indices trading higher after exit polls indicated BJP would win Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh assembly elections.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 318.90 points at 33,565.60 and the 50-share NSE Nifty rose 102.90 points to 10,355.

About 1,706 shares advanced against 708 declining shares on the BSE.
