Asian shares edge up, ECB meeting in focus

Australian shares were 0.1 percent higher while Japan’s Nikkei lost more than 0.3 percent in early trade.

Asian shares rose on Thursday after WallStreet managed to end higher, but gains were capped by political uncertainty in the UnitedStates and worries about weakening global economic growth.
