Sensex erases gains, Nifty slips below 9,800; ICICI, RIL, ITC drag

Equity benchmarks erased gains in last hour of trade, with the Nifty slipping below 9,800 level on profit booking ahead of long weekend.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 10.82 points at 31293.30 and the 50-share NSE Nifty rose 20.35 points to 9,789.30.

The broader markets also came off day’s high. The BSE Midcap index was up 0.7 percent. About two shares advanced for every share falling on the BSE.
