Sensex trims some of its gains, Nifty holds 9800; autos surge

Strength in the market continued from the morning session, with the Nifty inching towards 9850-mark.

The Sensex was up 211.31 points at 31493.79, while the Nifty up 77.75 points at 9846.70. The market breadth was positive as 1758 shares advanced against a decline of 611 shares, while 130 shares were unchanged.
